Hi, my name is Danny Catt and I am a wildlife ecologist, educator and photographer with a passion for travel and nature conservation. I invite you to join me from March to June 2012, for an educational journey through Asia as I explore and learn about the wildlife, people and ecosystems of one the most culturally rich (and heavily populated) regions of the world. Through our learning perhaps we will all be inspired to do things to make the planet we live on a better place.

Images of Hong Kong during Catt-Trax 3
Again... the images are a bit late.... but better late than never. I hope to have access to faster internet now that I am on land. I hope you enjoy the images of Hong Kong. Believe it or not... but this was also uploaded while I was in a car in Mumbai. Technology ... amazing :)

Arrived in Bombay & Ambassador Krishna V. Rajan
Just arrived in Bombay (now known as Mumbai) with an estimated population of over 17 million people. India is one of the most amazing countries in the world. I had an opportunity to sit down with retired Indian diplomat Ambassador Krishna Rajan. Ambassador Rajan has had an amazing 35 year career in the Indian foreign service having served as India's Ambassador to Zambia, Algeria and Nepal. I interviewed Ambassador Rajan about his thoughts about our common future. Stay tuned for that!

A Musical Contribution for Catt-Trax 3 by Omar Gonzalez
Sorry for the re-post but I am still learning the uploading options from YouTube to Facebook. As mentioned a number of posts ago... I have invited a number of friends and colleagues (artists, musicians, conservationists & writers) to contribute art, words, songs via video clips to share a message related to the theme of the journey (A Healthy Planet, A Healthy Future). The first piece of music I want to share with you (and I hope you will share it will all of your Facebook friends) is by Omar Gonzalez. Omar is from Mexico and is a multi-instrumentalist. See if you can count how many times he changes his shirt during the playing of Quiero Estar, the piece he created for Catt-Trax 3. Enjoy (and share share share!).
Lamma Island, Hong Kong
A short video of my short visit to Lamma Island in Hong Kong, the day
after leaving Vancouver to start Catt-Trax 3. It is a bit 'rough' as I
am still learning the ropes on video editing and uploading... but it at
least gives you a taste of the place.

Left Vietnam yesterday and en route across the South China Sea to Singapore. Gave my lecture on the Whales & Dolphins of the Asian Coast this morning which seemed to go well. Was keeping my eyes on the ocean this afternoon but no whales or dolphins were spotted. Hopefully tomorrow as we have another day at sea before reaching Singapore!

Save This World - A Prayer ... by Robert Stark
I have invited a number of friends and colleagues (artists, musicians, conservationists & writers) to contribute art, words, songs via video clips to share a message related to the theme of the journey (A Healthy Planet, A Healthy Future). I received this beautiful poem/prayer from musician and poet Robert Stark (known by many as Bobby Stark). Bob was in the Ontario folk music scene for many years before moving west to BC. A big thank you to Bob for this contribution (Bob indicates he may share this accompanied by music sometime during Catt-Trax 3). Thanks BBB!
